Flo's Hong Kong - North Scottsdale

Been reading about Flo’s Hong Kong and decided to give it a try. NOTE: I live about a ¼ of mile from Flo’s Original and have been a regular since it opened. I tried the Flo’s in Scottsdale Promenade, but it didn’t do much for me.

We drove up to DC Market and drove down the restaurant street. After 3 drive bys, we decided to park and try to find the place. Turns out it is located on the Safeway side. There is a door that opens into the courtyard across from Fleming’s but it is locked. (They should really put a sign on the door as we saw lots of folks attempt to get in that way.)

We were quickly seated – since we were the only ones there. Not a good sign. We decided to go boring and ordered spring rolls, fried rice and sweet and sour chicken. We noticed that all the dishes tasted different from the original Flo’s. Not bad – just different. The spring rolls were 4 thin rolls served in a bowl. Tasty. The other dishes were also fine, just not as full flavored as the original Flo’s.

Would I go back? Not when the original Flo’s is closer, better and personally supervised by Flo herself.
