We'll be visiting Toronto this summer during the week of Canada Day and Independence Day. Had a look at the past threads and was very pleased to find so many excellent TO nosh recommendations!! Indeed, it seems that many of the same venues keep popping up again and again, which speaks volumes to consistently great food, service or atmosphere: Are these mutually exclusive, though?
Much consensus: Susur, Chiado, Lai Wah Heen, Ban Vanipha, Eigensinn Farm, Truffles, Yummy Yummy Food Truck, JOV, Bonjour Brioche, JK @ ROM, Scaramouche. These definately are on our tasting list, and, given the advance window, have managed to secure reservations at several.
Kudos to Allan Gardner, aka Estufarian, and Chili for their knowledgable observations and insightful recommendations!
Amid the cyclical world of restaurant openings and closings, could the TO Hounds please respond with some thoughts on epulation/potation establishments..be they uber-upmarket or delicious dives..that have not been mentioned, or may recently have opened. Especially relish and savor all ethnic foodgroups! Also, is Saturday morning the best time to visit the Kensington Market; any thoughts on what to hit or miss?
If you happen to be heading to Florida, please do check in with the Florida Hounds!
