Is Florida bereft of Chowhounds?

andy huse | Jun 21, 2000 05:16 PM

I always suspected that Florida is, for the most part, a cultural wasteland. I thought there at least might be some Chowhounds out there, striving to find that perfect Arroz con Pollo, etc. Instead, I find a message-board of stony silence. Such a pity, too, as Florida's food scene (at least here in Tampa, and from what i gather, in Miami) is all over the place.

This board is a good indication of the cultural activity--- and sharing--- here in Fla. Sure, we get a trickle of messages, here, there, but geography divides coast from coast, city from city, hound from hound.

I guess i'll consult the glossiest, grossly commercial restaurant 'guide' (or "where we want you to spend all of your money") to find the best places to eat in Key West.
