Floating Rock

Thank you for telling us all about this restaurant. Not a chance in heck we would have found it on our own and we will definitely be back.

We wanted to try the food that we've been reading about :) and so ordered:

Fish cakes - surprisingly tasty. As posted previously they have an unassuming look. Squid salad with bright happy flavors. Tiger's tears, long beans with fermented fish and spicy chilli pork. We asked for "hot" and it was just about right: Needed the rice, but flavors shining through. We also had (because that wasn't enough food for two people?) the shrimp with black pepper. A surprisingly large number of big shrimp in shell fried - no batter, with a peppery dipping sauce. Fingerlicking good. We did not get a soup, but definitely will when I go back and order more reasonably! They looked great.

Ooh - and to drink I had the pineapple shakes (yup - at $2.00 each I had to have 2!). Very refreshing!

Everything was fabulous! And to top it all off, the people that work there (owners?) and the other diners were all incredibly nice, and the meal was (or would have been if we hadn't gone completely overboard) relatively inexpensive.

We did bring home leftovers, which I am about to dig into for breakfast.

Wish this place was in my neighborhood!
