In January, we stopped here after a visit to the Saturday morning farmers market. Flipped Doughnuts has an interesting product mix . . . donuts, espresso drinks, boba tea and Korean fried chicken.
The highly decorated doughnuts are on the small side. These are cake donuts with a flaky crispish exterior that is unique and a fluffy crumb that really does resemble a fine cake.
The Love struck, debuting for Valentines Day, is supposed to be filled. While there’s a needle track, no deposit of filling. Still, the strawberry buttercream frosting over the top was lovely. The NY Cheesecake version sports tangy cream cheese frosting and jelly.
Apparently Flipped is closed temporarily. I hope it can recover as this cake doughnut is excellent, if pricey. And of course, I want to try the Korean fried chicken some day.
