Flints, redux

After drinking last night's SlimFast shake about the time I read the place reopened, and knowing I'd be nearby today, I had to check it out.

Conclusion: A solid good.

Details: The place is as clean as it ever could be, without tearing it down and rebuilding. There are "flyer" menus about, with a large boxfull which they must be plastering the neighborhood with. It says "New Management." I wasn't in a particularly chatty mood, so I didn't ask any details. The menu is the "usual", pork or beef ribs, links, beef, and I don't recall if there was chicken or anything else. I ordered a 2 way combo of pork ribs and sliced beef, with medium sauce. When I picked up the bag, it felt like there was enough food for at least 2 people.... the 15 minute drive back to the office seemed to go on forever as the car smelled so good...

I opened the container to find a very generous portion of ribs and beef, with some potato salad and beans, and 2 slices of wheat bread. Beans - not bad. Potato Salad - on a good day, I don't like potato salad much. This was ok.

The ribs and beef: The flavor was good, the sauce was good, the texture was good. They both could have used more "smoke" time, and perhaps it was the time of day (before noon) that caused this (on the other hand, the last time I was at Bo's, very late, the beef was oversmoked and very dry). A little more smoke time and I'd have given it a solid Very Good review.

They have posted hours, which if I recall, were from 11 to 11 most days, with 1 or 2 days until 12:00.

All-in-all, not disappointed, not wowed, and I have just the right amount of meat still stuck between the teeth!
