What to do with the flaxseed "press cake"

Falafel Guru | Apr 30, 201706:13 AM     2

Our neighborhood farmers market has a stand with a flaxseed oil expeller. The owner gave me a few pounds of the leftover mill (the "press cake").

Apparently this is pretty nutritious stuff: lots of protein, flaxseed oil (the mechanical expeller does not extract 100% of the flaxseed oil), vitamins, fiber, and more. Online sources mention that this is used for feeding animals. Hmm. I am thinking of adding it to my home-made muesli/granola.

Any thoughts? Any other ideas of what to do with the mill?
