My S.O. and I have found a very good, casual, Chinese restaurant in Mar Vista. We enjoyed excellent service in a nice atmosphere. Not at all upscale but a nice family place with cloth table cloths and napkins. Great for when we dont feel like cooking yet not a night out.
We started with Chicken Pot Stickers (their name on the menu escapes me) which were very good and served with the traditional, light thin sauce.
For the main course we shared Moo Shoo Pork and Kung Pow Beef. Both were excellent. The Moo Shoo Pork was the best we have had. Four generous crepes bulging with goodness and of course the Hoisin sauce. The Kung Pow Beef was very tender and tasty. Although there were numerous red peppers it was not too spicy. Perhaps they gave us the Gringo version. Also there are no peanuts which is O.K. but I could use the chopstick practice.
1 diet coke, tea, and a bowl of white rice rounded out the dinner
The food is very reasonable Total bill for 2, without tip was $23.
This has become our de facto Chinese restaurant.
They also have a Hawaiian menu worth investigating.
It is located at:
4135 S Centinela Ave, Los Angeles, CA - (310) 390-7849.
This is a few doors south of Washington BLVD. Right next to Pacos Tacos.
