Flaming Torch

Frank has been filing me in on his dining and lunching out episodes but I've been too busy with business to post.

He's eaten dinner half a dozen times at Flaming Torch
in the past three weeks. The chef (Frank says that the people there describe him as the 'big' chef) left to take a job at another restaurant (one of Emeril's maybe?) leaving the 'little chef' and a waitress to do the cooking. This would not ordinarily inspire me to
think the food's going to be very much.

But Frank says the food's actually improved since 'Big Chef' moved on and raves about the Coq au Vin. Says it's the best thing he's had since before Katrina. Pretty hot stuff, in other words.

Now, to be fair, a friend of ours also raved about the Coq au Vin that he had one recent Saturday night (along with a bottle of wine, so maybe his judgement was a little skewed up) but HE adds that a co-worker of his ate there the very next day and the co-worker and co-worker's wife thought it was good but not outstanding.

The Flaming Torch is supposed to be going back to their full menu before Christmas anbd ius going to be open Christmas Eve. Closed Christmas Day, though.
