Does anybody have any tricks for crisping up flabby green beans besides soaking in cold water? I bought some thin french-style beans at the farmer's market without really feeling them properly. When I got them home, I found that they were flabby. I sprinkled them with water, closed up the bag and put them in the crisper bin in the fridge. Nonetheless, when cooked, they were terrible. Virtually unchewable. I still have half the box left and would like to salvage them. Any ideas?
