My favorite fishmonger was the poissonerie inside the IGA on keller street. Not your typical grocery store fish and seafood counter. In fact the only counter was the gutting and cleaning area, and was comprised of mainly tables of fresh whole fish on ice inside the refrigerated room. Filleted fish in the glass display outside in the store. They stocked all species from bar to bass. Now that the store is moving to new digs and modernized, my guess is that I will soon be shopping for another old school monger. I visited La Mer yesterday and realized that it is not what it used to be. Perhaps i went on the wrong day of the week. I remember Tuesdays were best at Waldman's. Any suggestions?
