Fish. in Sausalito - heaven and, um, purgatory

I had been wanting to try this place based on chowhound recs, and found myself having to go to Sausalito on a work-related errand (which of course I timed to coincide with lunch). I knew that the prices would be a bit steep, but I wasn't quite prepared to spend $16 on a sandwich and wanted to try more than one thing, so I got the Portuguese red chowder ($4/cup - thanks rworange) and the fish tacos ($10 for 3 tacos!!). The chowder was really, really good - smoky and a little spicy, with linguica, clams and fresh watercress. I would have been bowled over by Fish. if this was all I had, but unfortunately the grilled fish tacos were a disappointment. They came with a bland, mushy salsa and a cilantro-flavored crema (also I think plain crema as well). The corn tortillas tasted like they went right from the package onto the plate - rubbery - and while the fish was fresh, there just wasn't much flavor going on, even with the salsa, cremas, and some added hot sauce. Sigh.
