Best fish entree ever-- eaten at J Cafe in Deal, NJ

cappucino | Aug 23, 201108:33 PM     3

Service is slow, but they are polite. The Tilapia Francaise was out of this world. Perfectly seasoned and done to perfection (now I know what that tastes like since it clearly hasn't happened before). Served on a bed of sauteed then grilled vegetables (again done to perfection unlike other similar vegies) with heavenly mashed potatoes on the side. Presented in a marquis-shaped dish to mimic the shape of the fish. Can I say, this was absolutely divine. Also excellent were the Porcini Tilapia and pistachio-crusted. Didn't try the salmon or tuna dishes, but would love to do so when we get back there. BTW, kids enjoyed the pizza and cheese fries. Sushi was good too. Pasta, I would skip. Located on the second floor of the JCC. Don't believe it is listed on Shamash yet. Prices are very affordable. Casual atmosphere.
