Fish Cakes at Asia Thai Noodle in Oakland

Fish Butcher | May 20, 200307:52 PM     3

Has anyone else tried this place? King Siam in the 'Loin used to have some serious Thai food, but this place is the best I've had since my last trip to Thailand.

The fish cakes taste of lemon grass and are not the oil-sponge variety I find most places. Also try Thai BBQ chicken (marinated in coconut milk), shrimp paste fried rice, shrimp salad (a must)and spicy string beans with duck. For dessert get a sticky rice and mango, because it's obligatory and delicious, but also order the noodle dessert (can't access memory for the name...)

These are young Thai folks who put out some really good food every day of the week. Their lousy location (International and 6th) is the only thing against them. The place is clean and bright, and the staff is friendly, and the prices are good.
