Fireplace in Brookline Going down fast

I hate to write this because I live in Washington Square and love the idea that I can walk to a good restuarant, but my last few trips to the Fireplace get more and more disappointing. We ordered their Tuna and house specialty chicken recently and both were less than impressive. Tuna was smothered with a bizarre sauce on the top, while the chicken was not better than Star Market roasted variety. My expereince is that it has gone down hill since the original chef left, and the owner does not seem to care about anything other than smoozing with the women at the bar. I hope he hears about the decline in quality and focuses on the food again. The place is nevertheless always packed, which is a statement in and of itself. It was never great, but at least above average (this is Brookline we are talking about). Now it is way below average.
