Finding good mulberry syrup/molasses in SF

michaelnrdx | Aug 8, 2010 04:42 PM

I recently bought a bottle of Gesas mulberry molasses ($4.99/bottle) from the Parkside Farmer's Market on Taraval. It was very sweet and had little fruit flavor. You'd think mulberry syrup should be purple, but it's dark brown. I guess they overcooked the syrup and caramelized it.

Does anyone know where I can get a bottle of good mulberry syrup/molasses that actually tastes like fruit? I talked to Paula Wolfert, and she says she mail orders hers. I'd like to try to avoid that, if I can find a decent product in SF.
