Finding focus at a potluck? Good Luck?

waver | Nov 26, 2009 07:48 PM

Its our turn to host the office holiday party. It is a potluck as usual and as usual we will be faced with a nice but eclectic selection of items: sushi, cheese & crackers, veg & dip, salads, brownies etc. We are trying to think of a more substantial (read: alcohol absorbing) dish to serve, preferably hot. We had thought of pulled pork on mini buns, but too many people don't eat it. Sliders seem like a pain to make for 30 people. I had thought of roast beef sandwiches with horseradish, but that's not really hot by the time its sliced. Pizza squares?

Anyone have any better ideas for something to pull it all together, that's also easy to eat while balancing a glass of wine? How can the hosts bring it all together?

Thanks so much for any thoughts.
