Please help- trying to find places...

NewToBoston | Jan 31, 2004 11:46 AM

Hi,

I am new to the Boston area and I'm having a hard time trying to find a few places. I absolutely love to cook and I'm looking for

(a) anywhere that is sort of farmer's market like where I can get really inexpensive meat or fish. I have heard Haymarket on Friday and Sat.? Has anyone been there? Does it only have produce, though? Where I used to live there was a farmer's market grocery store where the meat was insanely inexpensive, it was very lively, butchers all over the place...very fresh too.

(b) I have been to Central Square, and I know there are a lot of Indian restaurants there. I love to (try to) cook Indian foods- and I am especially looking for stores that have Naan bread and spices and what not. Does anyone have any suggestions? Is there a place in Central Square?

If anyone is reading this, I'd love the advice and suggestions and any help. I love to cook and try to as much as I can in my spare time and love to go to restaurants and not only hopefully enjoy it but try to see if I can make the recipe at home. Those 2 things I am at a loss for though. I have been going to Stop and Shop and Shaw's but I hope to have other options. I love all sorts of cuisine, Thai, Italian, Russian, Indian..all very fun. :) Thank you,
