A long, long time ago I was first married and on Saturnday nights for dinner to watch the first reruns of Star Trek (1975-83) I would make a quick bread crust for pizza. This is what I remember: 1 C flour, 1 C dry milk powder, 2 C other ingredients, and 1 12 oz can of beer. Probably had baking soda added for the lift. I believe it was from a 'health food' book by Dr Cornell (sp?). It was a fairly wet batter spread atop a 11x17 cookie sheet and prebaked 15 min or so. Bring out and add toppings. Put back in oven to finish. It ended up like a thick crusted pizza. Flavor probably wasn't traditional but it was hearty and flavorful.
For the life of me I can't remember or find what the other 2C of ingredients would have been. Oh wait, maybe a C of soy flour but what else?
You folks are so smart and the best. I'd love to recover it for its ease and speed and nutrition. Any ideas, please? I'm pretty sure it was 4C dry and 1 12 oz beer.
Thanks in advance, Dian
