Where Can I Find Old-Fashion Rock-Candy?

Rich | Jul 5, 200503:00 AM     6

While visiting Olvera Street recently for the first time in many years, I fondly recalled my elementary school field trips there during the 1960's. L.A.'s historic birthplace was filled (and still is) with lots of colorful trinkets and edible goodies. Among the many sweets was clear rock-candy that looked like large diamond-like crystal stones. They were also sold on strings that could be worn like a necklace. I talked to several longtime sellers and was told that rock-candy hasn't been sold at Olvera Street in many years. In a quest to relive some of my youthful pleasures, I am asking if anyone knows of a place where I can find old-fashion clear rock-candy? (I've found some on-line candy businesses that stock it but I would like to buy some in person)
