I lived in Seattle in the late 80's and I found a wonderful chinese cookbook at the library. I used it a lot, and I photo copied some of the recipes. Through the years....we've moved and what not....and I have lost some of the pages I copied. I lost the cover page with the name of the book....and quite a few of the recipes I liked. I can't remember the name of the book, but I was wondering if any of you who had older chinese cook books would look at certain pages in the books to see if the recipes were the same and you might could tell me the name of the book. I would love to be able to locate a copy of this book.
On pages on the left side when opened....the page number is centered, and then there are the words MAJOR CHINESE CUISINE, and then a small block drawing of something that resembles 2 S's laid on their sides.
On papges on the right side when opened...the page number is followed by the name of the chapter (SOUPS, FISH AND SHELLFISH, POULTRY, PORK, SMALL EATS), then the same block of the 2S's.
The book was an older book in 1989, and it was pretty small and very plain.
Here are some page numbers with the recipes that appear on that page:
p.108 Basic Soup Stock
p.167 Crab Foo Yung
p.152 Shrimp in Lobster Sauce
p. 252 Cantonese Roast Pork
p. 398 Spring Rolls
I would appreciate any help on locating the name of this book....thank you for trying!
