where can i find these baking items?

apple | Mar 6, 2003 12:18 PM

i've been casually keeping an eye out for these baking items, and so far, i haven't seen them anywhere. i know i can order them from specialty food sites, but i'd much rather buy them locally if possible. any leads?

1)almond flour

2)almond paste - the canned (not tubed) kind, preferably "solo" or "american" brand - this is needed, of course, for homemade macaroons, yay! (i'm down to the last can in my stash)

3)dried unsweetened coconut (not the sweetened flakes sold in most supermarkets)

oh, and if anyone has any amaretti or other nut macaroon recipes to share (italian or french, doesn't matter), i'm always experimenting. could you please pass along the recipe(s) to me via email?

much thanks, as always
