Finch Tavern brunch? Or other choices in Westchester..

Bill | Jul 13, 2005 08:31 PM

Looking for someplace to go to brunch with a dozen or so people this Sunday. It's wife's *0th birthday, her mother is taking her (and other family members) out and apparently her male friend has decided to take his daughter out as well for her birthday, and they have something else to do late so we need to go to brunch (or an early dinner, which I refuse to do), so it's probably going to be a dozen+ people. Her mother lives in Queens, but we live in Westchester, as does everyone else who will be attending. My wife refused to suggest Restaurant X (which does the old Xavier's Garrison brunch @ $38pp), and so I instead suggested Doral Arrowwood, where I know they have gone before with another relative. Apparently that is too expensive for them, so we are looking again. It appears that Finch Tavern's brunch is less expensive, ranging from $20 (buffet only) to $28 which includes an entree. Dessert is included on the buffet. I have never been to Finch Tavern, I know that the reviews here are generally lukewarm and that it's overpriced. But is their brunch any good? Are there any other good choices in Westchester? I know that we have a serious lack of really good brunch places here.

My son went through Zagat finding places that had brunch and found Pacifico which seems to have an interesting brunch menu, although it's not a buffet.

Of course I could start looking for places in Queens...
