Avocado prices have been high around here(CT) for quite awhile. I used to be able to buy them for $1.00 each until last summer when they never got below $1.50 and usually they were closer to $2.00. I know they are very popular with the low carb set and their fat is touted to be very healthy so I'm sure the higher prices are being primarily driven by increased demand. I was pleased to see them in my supermarket for $.79 cents yesterday. I wonder if this because of the Super Bowl next Sunday or because of an abundant harvest?
