Finally got to Brent's

Filmfreaketta | Jun 4, 200310:56 PM     3

Been living in the SFV now for just over a year and finally got over to Brents Deli in Northridge. We loved the food but the crowds and atmopshere were pretty intense. We thought getting there early on a weeknight would do the trick but at 5:45 it was packed with the early bird crowd. When we left at about 6:45, it was even more crowded.

Is there a time this place isn't packed to the gills?

I had a Pastrami Ruben that was excellent, I don't think the half that I took home to have for lunch tomorrow is going to survive the night. My husband had a chopped liver plate with a good rye. The chopped liver was really good, but it tasted like it had some sort of sweetner in it. Did they mix up the salt and the sugar like our fellow chowhounds bad creme brulee? or is it intentionally sweet?
