My GF and I finally made it to aziza the other night. the menu honestly didnt excite me that much (never been a fan of small grain couscous). But due to the overwhelming love this board gives it, i figured i had to go. Well, let me say, chowhounds has proved itself again. The meal was revelatory in the same way that canteen is every time i go there. its just... great. it wasnt that the food was mind blowing or anything, just the whole experience was, for its aim, perfect. we shared the avocado and grapefruit salad, the kefta skewers, the lamb shank, and their side of veggies. the kefta skewers were pretty awesome. the salad was great as well... but even more impressive was the amount of detail that went into the plating for appetizers that were less than 10 bucks. the salad looked like a beautiful math problem. the lamb was awesome as well. not the most tender braised shank ive ever had but plenty good enough. the couscous was great as well.
we spent only 74 bucks after tip, and an 11 dollar beer (yummy, the abbey ale, cant remember the name) and we were totally stuffed.
Im going back for the prix fixe as soon as i can. thanks a lot chowhounders.
