I'm making a batch of Banana Rum Puffs for Christmas dinner. (http://www.epicurious.com/recipes/foo...) I've made them before; they are quite tasty. A sour cream puff pastry surrounds a sweet banana-rum-cream cheese filling (I'm making them with vanilla this time since there will be so many kids at the dinner). They are baked in mini-muffin pans. However, the recipe makes 60 and I don't want 60 of the same thing. So, I'm trying to think of an additional filling. I'd like it to be pretty easy, since the other dessert I'm making is a buche de Noel, and it's my first time trying that. One idea I have is to mix cream cheese with some cherry preserves (Bonne Maman brand). Would that be good? What ratio of cream cheese to preserves would work best? Other ideas? Thanks! Merry Christmas!
