Festive & Fun Mexican Birthday Meal in Fresno

We ended up at Plaza Ventana in Fresno, CA for my birthday dinner. There are two locations and we chose the one on Blackstone @ Shaw Ave since it was recently featured in the new Fresno Magazine. (Where my son's friends did their internships!!)

The ambiance is very colorful, decorated in reds, turquoise and yellows. Very trendy & fun atmosphere. There were eight of us and we were seated promptly in the back room which is very roomy and comfortable.

The chips were very good, served in a three-tier dish. Red, blue and the original corn chips were served with three different kinds of salsa.

I chose the Enchiladas Rancheras/Verdes which featured a duo of chili sauces. A tantalizing spicy red contrasting with a sweet green poured over delicately wrapped portions of seasoned chicken with lots of cheese and sour cream. Of course, refried beans and rice.

I took a bite of the chicken chimichanga that my daughter's friend ordered and it was fantastic! Very flavorful and it was beautifully presented.

Everyone else was happy with their choices, also. I had a non-alcoholic peach margarita which was prepared just right and very refreshing.

I would definitely recommend this place to anyone craving a great Mexican meal in a festive atmosphere with efficient service. The bill for eight was around $88. Lots of fun and great food made for a very nice birthday dinner!! ***kim***
