At the market this past week, the farmers we talked with seemed pretty optimistic about the move. Many had a "wait and see" attitude, crossing their fingers about the parking scene. Following is a schedule of opening days events on Saturday, April 26:
8-8:15: Ribbon cutting ceremonies w/CUESA members and farmers
10:00-1:00 Dining with Gene Burns (live broadcast from the market)
9:45-10:00 "How shopping at the farmers' market supports sustainable agriculture" talk with Jessica Prentice, CUESA director of educational programs
10:00-10:30 "Meet the Producer" with Mariquita Farms' Andy Griffin (grows awesome beets, broccoli rabe, had some great favas this past week)
10:30-11:20 "Shop with the Chef" with Joseph Manzare with Globe
