Ferry Building: Chairs and Cheese

I did a butt-parking survey at the FB this noon. Mistral now has (a probably excessive) five four-tops in addition to their two round standup counters. The four-tops are outside on the promenade, but labeled as reserved for Mistral customers. But since Mistral is strictly take-out, what are they going to do, dash out and whack you with a ladle? Frog Hollow has five tables inside the FB, also reserved. (Maybe they had them all along?) I gave them the ol' Jacques Tati onceover, Mistral's seemed more bottom-friendly. I still think there's plenty of room for communal tables, but then of course folks might bring their own bag lunches and not buy stuff.

Outside at the Farmers Mini-market, Spring Hill Jersey Farms had a nice assortment of cheese samples, including fresh cheese curd which I approached with great excitement (shock of recognition, for once). The were just salty enough, but a bit too dense, not quite Poutine-grade.
