Feijoada - Buteco

I was going to make the trek to Miami Cafe (or is it Cafe Miami? the one in the SEnd) for that amazing oxtail stew, but instead I thought I'd give Buteco (Brazilian restaurant in Fenway area) a call to see if they had feijoada made today (only on w/ends). I don't have any other local comparators to use in my evaluation, but I guess this just underscores my need to go to Cafe Brazil (for more than just feijoada, actually).

Huge (I don't think it comes any other way, really) dish of the stew, which had a mix of nice aromas; and a pretty big dish of rice, farofa, collards, and a couple of slices of orange. Also provided a good amount of salsa (which is pretty tasty, but not hot enough, so I added more heat). The stew was good, and had a nice creamy consistency to it (pureed black beans, with tons of intact ones too). There were plenty of slices of linguica, big honkin pieces of pork, dried beef (not enough beef tho), and several unidentifiable pieces of the swine in the mix too. There was a liver, i think a kidney, and I'm not too sure what else. It can get pretty dark & murky in that stew, so if you'd rather not know what you're eating, just keep shoveling it down. A few bones which were a little inconvenient, and a lack of the dried salted beef, but overall pretty good. I've got another 2 meals out of it too.
