Feeding an adventurous 16 year old

Miro | Mar 17, 200507:11 PM     6

I'm new to town and my younger brother's coming to town for a few days. He's an adventurous eater who can recognize and appreciate good food.

But he's in the middle of puberty, and I'm not a rich man. I'll splurge a bit for his benefit, though. Any thoughts on nice places under $20 that don't skimp on the portions (doesn’t have to be a pile of starch, but sushi could bankrupt me with him)? Creative cooking or interesting fusion?

We'll be in the SF and Palo Alto areas.

Thanks,
Miro
