February 2021 COTM Announcement: LIDIA BASTIANICH MONTH

islandmermaid | Jan 25, 202102:34 PM     21

In February our community will be exploring and cooking from the recipes of Lidia Bastianich!

To organize our reports next month, we will have threads dedicated to 2 or 3 of her individual books, and I will also post a general Lidia thread for reports on any of her other recipes, from any of her books or online sources. BELOW, PLEASE COMMENT WITH THE TITLE(S) OF THE BOOKS YOU WOULD LIKE TO HIGHLIGHT IN CAPITALS. PLEASE POST ANY TITLES BY WEDNESDAY JANUARY 27 AT 5PM EASTERN TIME. Wednesday evening I will tabulate the suggestions and then announce the specific books to be highlighted. This will give people time to reserve and pick up books at the library or order titles from local or online bookstores.

Plus, we will use this thread to share our excitement, questions, and thoughts about Lidia's books before our reporting threads go up on February 1. Also, feel free to post links here to any online recipes from the books to open up participation to those who may not be able to access the books. Thank you!

We always enthusiastically welcome reports on any prior COTM, so please post your thoughts on any recipes you cook from past selections.

Here's how we got here:
*nominations thread: https://www.chowhound.com/post/februa...
*voting thread: https://www.chowhound.com/post/februa...

**Newcomers** -- if you've never experienced the creativity and camaraderie of Cookbook of the Month, we would love to have you! No experience necessary. Just plan to make a dish from any Lidia book and post your report in February, with bonus points for photos of the dish. We're a warm and welcoming bunch and we love it when our group grows to include new participants! :)

A big thank you to all who took part in our selection process by nominating and voting. Can't wait to cook Lidia's recipes together in February!
