Feast From The East Chinese Chicken Salad

Lipps | Jan 5, 200605:49 PM

Just tried the much tauted CCS at California Chicken Cafe and was not impressed. Kind of grossed out, actually. I think it tasted just like the CCS everywhere else - Cheesecake Factory, any deli, or any restaurant where they sell CCRs in L.A., CA or the US for that matter. I do not understand why people love it so much and can't find anything special about it. Which only leads me appreciate Feast From The East that much more. First of all, the dressing is like NO OTHER CCS dressing anywhere. Which is too bad because that's what's so great about it! I have been eating and loving this salad for almost 20 years and I still crave it regularly. I guess I'm not really a fan of the CCS in general. I love the chicken and the onions and the almonds and the sesame seeds but I don't like mandarin oranges in my salad and I don't like canned crunchy chow mein noodles - and most every place includes them. My only wish is that I could find somewhere besides FFTE that makes a similar style CCS. Can I get an amen and maybe a rec?
