What are your favorite ways to eat chicken livers? (preferably without dairy)

I've decided to get back into the habit of eating chicken livers 1-2 times a week. They are a very nutritious food for me because of my very poor vision (vitamin A1) and very low iron levels.

I seem to prefer them much much more when they are cold- somehow they taste less liver-y that way. Anyone else feel the same? The way I used to enjoy them was wrapped in bacon and baked, and then eaten cold. I truly enjoyed the taste of the liver this way, somehow the bacon masked everything I dislike about liver and emphasized everything I do like. However, the bacon gets a little costly so I'd love some other ideas.

Apparently, calcium inhibits the absorption of iron, so I'd rather eaten them without dairy and as an appetizer (the less foods I'm eating with them, the less chance for added calcium).
