This is my favorite Thanksgiving side dish. (I submitted it to the site.)
It looks best in a large, round souffle dish. Top with pecans in concentric circles. Top with enough brown sugar to amply cover the pecans, then pour over lots of butter. It looks very pretty after it has baked.
This recipe is always received well.
Note: Because it keeps its heat very well, it can rest on the table 20-30 minutes while you finish the rest of the meal.
