Favorite Mom & Pop Italian Restaurant in Brooklyn

kronictonic | Mar 1, 201502:39 PM     5

Hello all - I grew up in Brooklyn and remember going to mom & pop Italian restaurants, mostly in my neighborhoods of Bensonhurst and Bay Ridge, but also others around town. They were very very good. It was a time when there were great pizza places (and ices!) everywhere. It's been many many years and I can't remember any names, but I wonder if any of these kinds of places are still around? I remember going back to visit family (now departed or relocated) in the 80's and 90's and was amazed how all the old Italian grocers were now Asian and how much the neighborhood changed. I'm sure it would be totally unrecognizable to me now. Anyway, anybody know if old family places still exist? Thanks.
