So I'm one of those people who prefers appetizers and desserts (read: carbs) to good old-fashioned protein + starch entrees. And yet I've fallen in love--I'm not claiming this is rational--with the honey roast pork ($9.95) at Galanga (thai restaurant on west 4th between macdougal and 6th ave). It is a grilled pork chop, not super sweet, that is served with sticky rice and a dipping sauce of (it seems) fish sauce, cilantro and chilis. It's just delicious.
Their other food is pretty good too, i like the tom kha and the pad thai. many raive about the duck salad but the one time i got it (for take out which i know doesnt always produce the best results for food) i thought it was too fried-tasting.
So go, get the roast pork, and be happy.
