I grew up on cornbread, all kinds, and love it. Suzanne Gpin's recipe from SUNDAY SUPPERS, however, is the best I have ever had and has become my 'go to' recipe for cornbread. I made some last night to go with some summer pole beans from the backyard I defrosted. Once again, I was amazed by how easy it is and how wonderful it tastes. Even the batter tastes good raw, which is not always the case with cornbread!
Recipe and photo below. While the recipe calls for a 10 inch cast iron, I make it in mine which is 8 inch and it works very well.
