Favorite Coffee Shop in PHX?

Question

I am trying to branch out from my usual Starbuck's routine. I had a really good soy latte at LGO this morning, and I also like the coffee and pastries at Olive & Ivy. I have been meaning to try Mama Java's, too. Also, the place by Lisa G's... I can't remember the name, but it is always closed when I stop by (in the evening). What are your favorites for good espresso and pastries, particularly in downtown Scottsdale, Arcadia, and CenPho?

Lux is my current favorite for coffee. I've tried Copper Star only once, and the coffee was amazingly weak--someone working there even said, "It's kind of weak, huh?" but did nothing to remedy the situation. :/ 

I'll probably give Copper Star a couple of more tries before writing them off completely, as they are quite near my house.

Mama Java's is another one I've tried only once. I remember their coffee being good, but not quite as good as what I've had at Lux.

I like "Weather and Coffee" right off the 51 and Bell (Southeast corner). The staff is always very gracious, and the atmosphere is nice and relaxing. Good coffee as well (fresh roasted, with a variety of different types).

The Village Coffee Roastery on N. Hayden in Scottsdale.....far and away the best. Custom-roasted coffee by one of the most knowledgeble and accomplished roasters in the country. This guy has been studying and roasting coffee for years....started out in Seattle when the craze first hit. He's also a chef, so you'll certainly enjoy lunch with your coffee, too!

The coffee at Lux is my personal favorite and I like the staff a lot. Mornings before work it's always festive, lots of joking around, just a nice environment. I also like that they give a lot of local artists a place to hang and sell work and the art gets treated respectfully. Even when I was a smoker, I never could get excited about places that allowed smoking and art on the walls.

Royal Coffee Bar on Jackson is cool..

Mama Java is good and a really friendly vibe. I also have to say that Coffee Plantation has great iced mochas!

Does anyone know of any places between the east/west boundaries of 7th St & 19th Ave and north/south boundaries of Thunderbird & the 101 (basically Beardsley). I would love, love, LOVE to find a Starbuck's alternative on my route to work. Haven't found anything yet.
