This is my first year being married and I was talking with my husband about his Christmas food traditions and shocked to find he hasn't any! Granted, Christmas isn't as much of a food holiday for us as Thanksgiving, but there are certainly some regulars, mostly in the way of candies and cookies.
Braum's eggnog (non-alcoholic)
My grandmother always makes a spiced tea drink for Christmas Eve that has orange and lemon, tea, sugar, cinnamon, cloves, etc.
There was never any alcohol at Christmas Eve until the grandkids were of age and started bringing it and even then my grandparents were none too happy. But a nice pitcher of sangria goes a long way at smoothing things over
Date balls
Aunt bill's brown candy (kind of a caramel fudge)
three layer bars (a shortbread base, a date and coconut filling, topped with a powdered sugar and lemon juice topping--my favorite!!)
occasionally throw into the mix--divinity, fudge, or peanut brittle
And my granddad always sent everyone grapefruit for Christmas so that's a very strong Christmas memory.
