I'm a Long Beach Chowhound, and one of my favorite mom-and-pop places in the LBC is Ferraro's on Los Coyotes Diagonal between Wardlow and Palo Verde. It ain't a pretty Italian place, it's just casual and comfortable and blessed with super-friendly waitstaff. The kind of place where they refer to you by your name after the second visit, where you can get a glass of wine and sit out front while waiting for your table (there's usually a wait). The food is southern Italian (the owner, Joe-- how perfect is that?-- is a paisan' from Italy who lived in NY before moving out here), pretty saucy (for American tastes) and delicious.
But every so often Joe puts braciola on the menu. I love his version of it, but I know that you Chowhounds will know of other places that serve it. So there's my question: Where's your favorite place to hunker down with a good braciola?
