what's your fave LAMAZOU sandwhich?

Many Chows have recommended this small sandwich shop Lamazou on 27th & 3rd, today I finally dropped by for lunch and I know I will definitely be heading back for more! Today I played safe and ordered a "Milano" (salami, turkey breast, provolone cheese) and geez I absolutely loved it! They gave me so much meat, the the bread was deliciously fulfiling, thanks Chows for giving me such a great recommendation! 

By the way, what do you usually order there? I need recs for my next trips. Thanks!!

what is in a lamazou sandwhich that tasts so good? is it the bread? the meat, or the cheese? i loved my sandwich but i couldn't tell just which part of it that makes their sandwiches stand out?

I used to live in that neighborhood and visited LaMazou at least once a week. So many good options -- definitely try the country pate and their garlic sausage. Regarding cheese - if the husband or wife is waiting on you, I recomend choosing a meat and asking them for a cheese recommendation...they have always been too happy to provide a taste of any of the sandwich fillings. And the soups are excellent too - as are the various british potato chips. Perfect to pick up and head to a park in this weather!

Just had half a smoked turkey and brie on rosemary ciabatta with lettuce and mustard and a cup of very good and creamy tomato soup on the side. Only $6.50 and better than anything else I've eaten for lunch in the past few weeks.

The Lamazou special's the way to go. Especially with balsamic and olive oil or harissa as accompaniment. Also, there's a brie and prosciutto sandwhich (don't remember the name) that's fantastic with harissa.

Can't go wrong with Lamazou, though.

As idiotic as thiis will sound, try their eggsalad sandwich. You will never believe how positively exquisite eggsalad, fortified with Lamazou's just-at-the-peak of ripe roqueford can be!
