Old fashioned deviled clams

ed2956 | May 31, 201508:21 AM     22

I'm looking for a recipe or a restaurant that sells deviled clams. The last place I ever had them was The Greenway Tavern back in the 70's in southwest Philadelphia (these were the best!) and also Henny's in Stone Harbor made good ones. Both places have since closed up and I haven't found anywhere that makes them in the same way. It was almost like a clam stuffing , stuffed into a cherry stone clam shell and deep fried. I've tried all over and can not find anything like it. There usually some form of clam casino which is NOT anything like what I'm looking for . any help will be appreciated. thanks! Ed
