Farrotto? Farolenta???

oakjoan | Jan 31, 2006 10:22 PM

In a post below about Delfina, somebody mentioned farro cooked in a risotto -- "farrotto". At Oliveto a few months ago I had a delicious "farolenta". It was creamy and more gummy than regular polenta but somehow fabulous in spite of that.

Are these two farro dishes staples of Italian cuisine and can I get them anywhere else....where they're regularly on the menu (or often on it).
