Went to Farmicia the other night. Only thing bad about the place is the name which I find really bad in fact. In case you don't know they attempt to make all items from local artisans/farmers/etc wherever possible. So I guess the "farm"in the name is OK but I cannot get the pharma company, Pharmacia, out of my mind. I digress.
Service was excellent. Decor was soft - softer than the previous Novelty. Food was excellent. Well, I can only judge on 2 items: wild mushroom soup which was creamy and woodsy and mushroomy and had serval different large mushrooms in it - oyster, shittake and maybe one or tow others that I just don't know. Anyway, it was for the mushroom lover and was rich. And great. different breads were offered and the ones I chose - black pepper roll and a nice crispy breadstick - wre excellent with the herbed butter. My entree - pan seared bass with a "smoked bacon clam potato chowder" was absolutely divine. The littleneck clams (in shells) were around two perfectly seasoned portions of bass, with a tomatoey/bacony sauce and potatoes. it was awesome - rich and flavorful. had no room for dessert. Prices were about 17 - 24 for entrees.
Over my shoulder I heard oohs and ahhhs about the same mushroom soup and also eyed up two of the vegetarian dishes (of which there are a few) which looked really really good.
Seemed that all diners there (it wasn't busy though) were enjoying their dinner. And its smoke free if that matters to people.
I'd go back again!
