Farmers Market Haul: Dalex, Beckmann's, Roli Roti

We're still enjoying the stuff we got at yesterday's Farmers Market at Cambrian Park in San Jose, which is every Wednesday from 4pm to 8pm. My husband and I carpool so it was conveniently on our route home. Maybe that was our downfall: just off from work, stress levels still high, and hungry... easy prey.

The Dalex Artichoke Walnut Cheese Spread is soooo good. 3 types of cheese (swiss, Monterey jack and cream cheese), artichokes, walnuts, garlic, onion, dill, mayo. Super chunky and even though I'm not a big dill fan, it didn't overpower the dip. It is addictive and we've got to hit another farmers market to buy more. I'll definitely get 2 containers next time. It was $5.00 for an 8 oz. container but $9.00 if you buy 2.

The Beckmann's cookies were the next to reel us in. We sampled a tropical snickerdoodle or tropical sugar cookie, can't remember exactly. Unfortunately they were out of this variety so we settled for oatmeal raisin. 7 cookies for $5.50 and well worth it! Chewy with a good texture but not too sweet.

Our original goal was to purchase just a Roli Roti chicken and potatoes for dinner. I had no idea that Rotisario at Oxbow Market in Napa is the first stationary Roli Roti site. We're visiting with my parents this Saturday and will definitely have them try. I know the chicken gets mixed reviews here on the board, but we love it. Maybe we've just had good luck. The chicken is juicy, tender, flavorful and the lime provided adds just the right zip. I think the potatoes are heaven in their simplicity and richness, but then again I've always been a fan. Can't wait to try their other meats if they have them available at Rotisario.
