I've been to the Farm on Adderly about a dozen times. Every time I've sat in the dining room, whether it be a simple brunch or a long dinner, I've had exceptional service - the kind of pleasant, well-informed service that actually contributes to the enjoyment of the meal.
However, I've now had my third experience at the bar, and it's a completely different world up in the front. The bartenders all behave as if 20 minutes is a reasonable amount of time to wait for a drink. They seem distracted, often rushing from one task to another before completing anything.
Each time I've eaten at the bar I've left shaking my head... even a bare minimum of service seems hard to come by. If you are sitting at a bar with only about 8 seats, you should not have to flag down a busboy to go find the bartender to ask for another glass of wine. If you are having food, the bartender should check on you at least once before you have entirely finished your meal.
How can they be so on top of things in the dining room, and leave the bar to languish? I won't bother attempting to even order a drink at the bar ever again, let alone something to eat. Anyone else had this experience?
