Farfalle - Los Feliz

After seeing a Friday afternoon matinee of “The Dangerous Lives of Altar Boys” (go see it…very funny), we decided on an early dinner at Farfalle.

Appetizer – radicchio and ricotta wrapped in a thin pizza dough and baked until cheese melts; served hot and sliced with cold tomato and garlic salsa to balance the dish. Very good opening.

Main Courses – (1) mushroom ravioli with a slightly chunky tomato sauce and grated mozzarella on top. Light flavor, seasoned perfectly. I would order this again. (2) Spaghettini with salsa cruda, consisting of chopped tomato, sun-dried tomato, capers and garlic. Very garlicky, with slices of garlic in the sauce. Garlic lovers would love this. It was a little too garlicky for me, although I finished it, so it wasn’t intolerable.

We shared 2 glasses of house Chianti, and the total came to $48 before tip.

We only go here every couple of months because they really pack you in if it’s crowded. But for an early dinner, or late lunch, it’s a nice local place.
