FANTASTIC salad at Veggie Planet, Harvard Sq.

Friends tried to get me to go to Club Passim - Once. As soon as we got there, I excused myself and went home. Hell no! I won't go! But Veggie Planet? Oh, now that's a different story...

They're in the same space - located just under that cool "worldly" map/bookstore on Church Street and across from the Cactus Club. I guess their pizzas are quite popular (and they look great), but being calorie-conscious these days, I ordered the salad special. The chef was nice enough to answer my dorky diet-concern questions (aargh - I HATE doing that.) The salad was fantastic - spinach salad with red onion, french lentils and cherry tomatoes tossed with a tarragon, tofu "ricotta" dressing. Served with a great piece of whole wheat "pocket"-type bread - thick like naan with the nice brick-oven baking marks, but very dense and chewy. A big entree-size serving for about $6.50. I'd go back tomorrow - and the next day - for this salad. (Just don't tell my friends, they might use it as leverage to get me to a folk music show - Ick!)
